About Me
Hi, I’m Neya Ramvel, and my long-term goal is to use education to improve the overall quality of life in my village and other similar communities. I believe that English knowledge is crucial for the younger generation and the lower working class to secure sufficiently-paying jobs.
My passion for this cause was sparked by seeing the struggles people go through in my village, which my ancestors also worked to improve by founding a school. My commitment is to ensure these children acquire an understanding of the English language for free, allowing them to break the generational cycle of poverty.
MISSION
Our mission is to empower the rural lower working class by providing free, world-class English language proficiency. We leverage innovative Artificial Intelligence and active-learning strategies to unlock high-quality job opportunities and foster the comprehensive development of these communities.
The English Education Bot: Neya's Research and Solution
The English Education Bot is a cause-related project in AI that aims to uplift uneducated adults and students. It is a tangible and long-term solution to the lack of sufficient English proficiency in rural India.
Utilizes artificial intelligence and active-learning strategies to make engagement non-tedious, contrasting with the passive learning methods often used in the region.
My Research Projects
1 / AI Research under Dr. Monica Sava, Program Director, University of Maryland Global Campus
Researched and authored a 3,000+ word paper analyzing and raising awareness about dialect detection and its role in language translation. Learned how to utilize scholarly websites, such as JSTOR and Google Scholar. Learned how AI analyzes input to determine dialect, including word onset, speaking time, and other prosodic features.
2 / Coding project- Inspirit AI
Coded and learned in depth about systems and completed a final project at the end of it relating to AI chatbots and education. Developed 20 + coding tasks, researched about AI chatbot to enhance education, collaborated with 7 peers, analyzed system design, presented results to my instructors. Learned about AI bias

English Education Bot Development
Building and expanding the AI-powered English Education Bot. AI app has a interactive chat application where users can type messages and receive real-time assistance, corrections, and explanations for English language learning.

Virtual Hackathons
Conduct hackathons virtually for middle and high school students.

Global Advocacy Award
Advocating for EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) laws in mainly Virginia, but ultimately aiming for implementation everywhere.

Coding Projects
Coded and learned in depth about AI systems, developed 20 + coding task. Analyzed system design of other AIs, like chatbots and general detection bots.

Social Media Internship
Learned to create a digital portfolio, websites, and create social media content.

Legal Internship
Run operations at my local district representative’s office, in doing so I also helped my community. Drafted letters to respond to constituents, worked on programming a broad database to store advocacy information, researched and worked on bills. Learned more about the government system and the nuance of politics. Learned collaboration with other interns.
